Gallagher Europe enters new chapter with full share acquisition by Gallagher Group Ltd (New Zealand).
Groningen, 2 April 2025 – Gallagher Europe, a leading European player for decades in innovative solutions for electric fencing and animal and pasture management, announces that Gallagher Group Ltd has become the sole shareholder of Gallagher Europe B.V. as of 31 March 2025. At the same time, owners Meindert and Sytie Dijkstra stepped down as the company’s directors.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Gallagher Europe – built on the trusted foundations of quality, innovation, and customer focus. Day-to-day operations and the European team will remain unchanged. Gallagher Europe will continue operating under the same name, with the same contacts, processes, and a clear focus on customer-oriented solutions for the agricultural sector.
History & Growth
Since the founding of Veldman & Dijkstra in 1978 and the entry of Gallagher Group Ltd as partner in 2001 – after which Veldman & Dijkstra became Gallagher Europe – the company has grown into a European organization with more than 130 employees, a broad distribution network, and a leading role in electric fencing systems, animal monitoring, and pasture management. From its headquarters in Groningen, the company serves customers in all European countries. Gallagher Europe has international brands such as Gallagher, Pulsara, Elephant, Heiniger, Betacraft, Kersia, Goodnature, Farming Toys, and until recently also Birth Alarm and Coho. Birth Alarm and Coho will be continued by Meindert and Sytie Dijkstra through their new company, the Dijkstra Group B.V.
Driven by the mission Protect what matters most, Gallagher Europe provides smart, sustainable, and high-quality solutions that help livestock farmers, horse owners, and agricultural professionals operate responsibly, safely, and profitably. Over the years, the organization has won several innovation awards and has actively contributed to a safer, more efficient, and future-proof agricultural sector.
