There are many options for grazing livestock. While some choose permanent fences combined with rotational stand grazing, others opt for strip grazing using mobile fences. In addition, some plots lend themselves better to grazing than others, but nothing is impossible.

Optimal grass growth: Permanent fences with mobile fences for flexible plot sizes
If you want to match plot size to grass growth, a permanent fence combined with mobile fences can be a solution. Regrowth can also be better protected this way. Permanent fences of smooth wire and line post posts form the base along the cow path. Mobile wires are then set up from the cow path, defining the plot size. Using the multi-function insulated handle, you can decide whether the current should be passed or not. This is unlike a standard gate handle. By using a reel, you roll the wire up and down easily and quickly.
Rotational grazing with fixed fences for sheep
With rotanional grazing, the regrowth of grass is better because it is not eaten up as short and it is grazed higher. This results in a higher grass yield compared to (rotational) stand grazing and reduces the risk of worm infection. Sheep grazing requires several wires above each other and fixed pastures are desirable in this system. For this reason, permanent fences are preferred over mobile fences. A permanent fence is more resistant to weather conditions, it is more solid and reliable and thus provides a stable base. This permanent fence can be formed by line post posts with smooth wire and droppers. The line post posts are durable and quick to install. A multi strand gate kit is indispensable and ensures that the wires do not become entangled when opening the pasture.
ABC grazing system: getting the most out of grazing and robotic milking
The ABC grazing system is a good strategy to get the most out of the combination of grazing and robotic milking. It uses three blocks (A, B and C), with the cow being sent to a new block after each milking. To make this rather labour-intensive way of grazing easier, Gallagher has some clever solutions. Tumble wheels roll along and allow the wire to be moved easily, without having to use posts. An accelerated wire dispenser for fencing wire helps to quickly wind and unwind the wire and makes it easy to adjust its length. The reel can then be fixed in a support that can be attached to a reel corner post (with support leg).
